The Wildcat experience

More than a basketball program.

We compete at a high level, equip athletes for life, and create a place where families truly belong.

Competing

Proving what homeschool basketball can be.

A common misconception is that homeschool athletics is a non-competitive arena. This is wrong. The Wildcats compete with top public, private, and charter school teams in Indiana—and with the best homeschool programs in the nation.

Public / Private Schools

We compete against some of the top IHSAA schools each year, including Bloomington South, Culver Academy, Crispus Attucks, Tindley Prep, La Lumiere, Indianapolis Metro, KIPP Legacy, Terre Haute South, and more.

We also attend the Wettig Memorial Tournament, which regularly features teams such as Richmond, Greensburg, Shelbyville, and Ben Davis.

Homeschool Competition

We play in the MCHC Conference, widely regarded as the toughest conference in homeschool basketball, against programs such as the Northwest Warriors, Illinois Crusaders, Cincinnati Trailblazers, Grand Rapids Angels, Miami Valley Saints, Monee Patriots, and Columbus Hawks.

Our season includes the NCHBC Midwest Regional Tournament and concludes at the prestigious NCHBC National Tournament.

Built through years of work

Our foundation

The Wildcat Way

We are the Lord’s, not our own, therefore we play His way.

01The Wildcat Way

We are the Lord’s, not our own, therefore we play His way. We commit to sacrifice individual desires and goals; to joyfully serve the Lord through team basketball; to communicate with boldness and kindness on and off the court; to vigilantly guard against division, distraction, and discouragement; to respect our God-given talents, authorities, teammates, and opponents; to play as one body with unmatched enthusiasm and energy, focusing on spirited, suffocating defense and passionate, precise offense; to treasure every possession of every game, practice, and individual workout; to lead by using our influence to encourage character, diligence, and excellence in everything; to glorify God in victory and defeat; and to play in such a way as to win an imperishable prize.

02Our Foundation

The imperishable prize is the salvation of Jesus Christ, giving us eternal life and freedom from sin. We know these things because God’s Word, the Bible, informs us. The Bible is alive (Heb. 4:12), true, and useful for teaching, training, and correcting, so that we may be completely prepared for every good work (2 Tim. 3:15–16).

Throughout the year, we use the Bible as the foundation for character development and understanding Christ-like character. In this way, we seek athletes who are crowned victorious both in this life (2 Tim. 2:5) and the life to come (Acts 16:31).

03Our Players

Learn

Our goal is to instill and demonstrate Christ-like character while developing God-given athletic abilities through discipline, training, and an emphasis on fundamental basketball skills. We do not simply want athletes to play basketball; we want them to learn the game.

Our volunteer coaches dedicate hours to teaching fundamentals, advanced skills, team principles, and most importantly the person and work of Jesus Christ.

Compete

We offer competitive basketball programs for boys and girls from 4th through 12th grade. Each year, the Wildcats compete with top public, private, and charter school teams in Indiana while also facing the best homeschool teams in the nation.

Grow

We strive to foster an environment that allows every person to grow spiritually and become a strong ambassador of Christ. Growth is the best metric we can use to measure success. We are not swayed by wins and losses; we strive to consistently grow, love the process, and represent Christ in everything we say and do.

Lead

We encourage leadership at all ages, hoping that quality translates into life outside and beyond basketball. We want athletes to gain the confidence to lead in their communities, classes, jobs, churches, and future opportunities. Many former Wildcats have returned to become influential leaders in our organization.

04Our Parents

As an all-volunteer organization, parents are the connections between the many people and tasks that keep seasons coming year after year. Parents are the primary developers of our players’ character, their biggest fans, their most ardent cheerleaders, and the hands and feet of Christ as they fill the roles necessary to create social and basketball opportunities.

Our parents are the first examples to their children of our code of conduct, and they stand in the gaps in prayer over our entire organization. The Wildcats are not here without our dedicated parents.

05Our Alumni

Having been trained as players, our alumni are the legacy of the Wildcat organization. They take the Wildcat Way into the world and represent what we are all about. Many continue to support and serve the organization long after graduation as coaches, fans, sponsors, tech support, and prayer warriors.

We want to stay connected through personal relationships, email, social media, live streaming, and alumni events. Alumni who would like to reconnect can email indywildcatsmedia@gmail.com with the subject line “Alumni.”
